Maruti Suzuki Cuts Production for 8th Month in a Row

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has reduced its production by 17.48 percent in the month of September; winding under extended slowdown. This was in the eighth month when the India’s largest carmaker has lowered its output. The production of passenger vehicle in September 2018 was 1,57,659 units whereas in September 2019 the production was 1,30,199 units. The decline of 17.38 percent added to the decline of last year production of passenger vehicle.

In September 2019, Manufacturing of compact and mini segment cars such as including Ignis, Dzire, Alto, Celerio, Swift, Baleno and New WagonR was 98,337 units whereas in September 2018 the production was 1,15,576 units. The production passenger vehicle was declined by 14.91 percent in last one year. Likewise, in September 2019, the utility vehicle production including Ertiga, S-Cross, Brezza, Vitara was 18,435 units against 22,226 unit’s production in September last year. The production of utility vehicle was declined by the 17.05 percentage.

According to reporter’s, the Tata Motors dropped the passenger vehicle production by 63 percent as compared to last year production. In September 2018, the production of passenger vehicle was 18,855 units whereas, in September 2019, the production was 6,976 units. The major automotive makers failed to cop-up the sales in September 2019, in the beginning of festive season.
