Global Dimethylformamide Market By Market Size

The dimethylformamide market was valued at US$715.59 million in 2020 and is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.3% to reach US$1090.38 million by 2030.

The chemical dimethylformamide, or DMF for short, has the formula (CH3)2NC (O) H. Most organic liquids, including water, can be mixed with this colorless liquid. One typical solvent for chemical processes can be DMF. Dimethylformamide has no scent, although technical grade or degraded samples frequently have a fishy smell because of dimethylamine impurities. Impurities causing dimethylamine degradation are frequently eliminated by sonicating the samples at a lower pressure or by sparging the deteriorated samples with an inert gas such as argon. As the name suggests, it is a derivative of formamide, the amide of acid. DMF has a high boiling point and a polar (hydrophilic) aprotic solvent. It promotes polar mechanism-following reactions such as SN2 reactions.
