Recent News:

  • In January 2024, Teijin Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan) said it would start selling Tenax carbon fiber, produced using sustainable acrylonitrile (AN). The AN uses the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus-certified recycled raw materials or waste and residue from biomass-derived goods. The mass balance method will be used to make the certified carbon fiber at Teijin's Mishima facility in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. When raw materials sourced from biomass and petroleum are combined to create goods, this technology verifiably traces resources through intricate value chains.
  • In July 2023, Toray Industries, Inc. declared plans to increase the capacity of its two factories' regular tow carbon fiber manufacturing. Capital expenditures will add lines to the Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea, Spartanburg, South Carolina, Toray Composite Materials America, Inc. factories, and Toray Advanced Materials Korea, Inc. As a result of these enhancements, the Toray Group's yearly capacity will expand by more than 20% to 35,000 metric tons starting in 2025.
